Bananas For Banana Bread!

We are having some major snow fall up here in the northeast. So what do you do when snowed in besides try and shovel your way out for hours? No, not see who can finish a bottle of wine first... BAKE!

I'm not one for flavored breads, but the other day I had a craving for banana bread that hit me like a ton of bricks!

Luckily my roommate despises any banana that isn't green, so thanks John, you helped me in my mission. The rest of the stuff is pretty basic so I was on my way to quenching my thirst for the most dense, moist, and yummy banana bread possible. Also, some chocolate chips can't hurt right?

-3-4 overripe bananas
-1 egg
-3/4 cup sugar
-1/4 cup vegetable oil
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
-1 1/4 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp baking soda
-1/2 tsp cinnamon
-Pinch of salt
-1 cup milk chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. In a medium bowl, peel and smash the bananas.
3. Mix in the sugar, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla.
4. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and chocolate chips. Mix until just combined, you don't want a tough bread!
5. Grease and line a loaf pan and load 'er up!
6. Level and pop the loaf in the oven for 30-40 minutes depending on the shape and size of your pan, you're looking for a golden color and for a toothpick to come out clean.
7. Let sit for 10-15 minutes if you can, but after that, dig in! It's the best when it's all warm.

Such a perfect and simple recipe for a snowy day, an instant comfort food. Now finish the shoveling, take a bath, and cozy up with a good book or some Netflix!
